Wax Poetic Newsletter

It's February, and we're bombarded with little red hearts.

“It isn't what you have in your pocket that makes you thankful, but what you have in your heart.”

Here at Blue Moon Candles we are thankful for all our friends and customers!  To show our appreciation this month we are featuring our 8oz. Triangle Container Soy Candle for just $6.50 while supplies last.  This is a fantastic way to sample some of our new fragrances!

Asiatic Lily & CantaloupeSweet and juicy, fresh, ripe cantaloupe and a delicate heady exotic lily. This is a beautiful fragrance.

Blackberry BasilA delicious mix of rich sweet sun-kissed Blackberries entwined with green leaves, white musk and an unexpected herbal zing of basil. The rich, winey Blackberry takes predominance over the edible leaves and lightly anise-scented basil.  It is a fresh, fruity, wild and sensual scent, blending fresh sweetness with a dry herbal accord. Consider it an upgrade and a new twist on typical Blackberry scents.

Cucumber Lettuce:  This is a very fresh fragrance.   It's fresher than straight cucumber, and we've had it formulated to our exact specifications... it doesn't fade or smell "off" like cucumber sometimes does.  This one is a favorite of mine!

Cannoli di Albicocca: Strong, delicious Apricot really comes through... Touched with a hint of rum, the true, sweet apricot preserves play with creamy ricotta filling.

Green Irish Tweed type: Our first-ever duplication of a fragrance from the venerable (and extremely pricey) House of Creed. This fine men's fragrance begins with a sprig of Dublin ivy, joined with green notes of verbena and violet leaves. Woody, balsamic Mysore cardamom creates a sweet-spicy middle, winding down to a well-defined, smooth bottom of sandalwood and amber. Bottom line: A truly accurate re-creation of the VERY upscale, very green real thing, and guaranteed to turn any man into a bare-chested Riverdance-type hottie (and by "guaranteed," I of course mean "vaguely implied," my lawyer tells me).

Hanae Mori Butterfly type: luscious Floral Oriental fragrance of gracious elegance from the esteemed designer, Hanae Mori®, means “Flower of the forest” in Japanese.  This interpretation has top notes of blackberry, bilberry, black currant and strawberry, a heart of rose and jasmine, on a ground of sandalwood, rosewood, almond and ebony, this scent was inspired by cherry trees in bloom and other traditional oriental symbols of beauty.

Pirate Island DunesBracing as the Sea Fresh rain, ocean froth, dune grasses, sea air, rosemary and woody sea pines play with tangy beach plums and cranberries. And above it all, you can detect just the lightest hint of soft flowering wild honeysuckle, tumbling over a sign bleached white in the sun.*Beware* Here thar' be Pirates...

Mandarin Coriander- The Thymes type: Leslie Ross Lentz et al developed Mandarin Coriander as "...the perfect scent for use in kitchen or bath, after cooking, gardening or while tidying up, wherever a 'light touch of clean' is desired."  Satisfying the senses, this fragrance oil captures the essence of the scent with a fresh blend of sweet herbs and zesty citrus that lifts the spirits.

Sanguigno Orange & Patchouli:  If you stay in Rome, chances are your morning orange juice will be from the Blood Orange. So called for their surprisingly red flesh and deep red juice, the popular Sicilian Sanguigno variety have been described as a spicy berry orange.  Grounded in, and balanced with, the warmth of patchouli and a hint of fir, our Sanguigno Orange & Patchouli fragrance oil will make your mouth pucker and be deeply satisfying to your senses.

Tuscan Tomato & Basil:  A staple of the Tuscan Kitchen that embodies the summer sun, this gorgeous scent is luscious, bright and green with just a touch of the sweet earth of a ripe tomato.  It's strong, elegant and very unlike anything else. Not perfumey, it's deeply herbal and musky, accented with the sweetness of basil.  A leafy green bouquet with mint and anise notes, it is perfect in the kitchen and a gardener's line, and its sweet sensuality is hypnotic for unisex body care.

Sardinian Garden Parsley:  Thought to have originated with Archemorous, the herald of death; used to decorate the tombs and graves of the dead to appease Persephone, and for Wiccan rituals, this mysterious and powerful garnish is delightful to the taste and agreeable to the stomach. Parsley adds a clean, fresh flavor and is an essential in the herb garden.  Our Sardinian Garden Parsley™ fragrance oil has a wonderfully fresh, very green herbal bouquet.

Berries & Violets:  This scent just echoes romance! We love this fragrance, it is an absolute delight. Tremendous in bath and body products, Candles too! We picture Victorian lace gloves and old fashioned water pitchers filled with delicate, fragrant violets! Pair this with Raspberry Lilac for a complementary scent mix, these two fragrances inspire each other!

Bird of Paradise:  This fragrance has such a unique twist that we just had to share it with you. It is strong  and wonderful in everything!  Sweet creamy vanilla is decorated with fresh juicy strawberries and hot from the tropics freshly grated coconut. A true delight for those tropic lovers. Wonderful in candles and in bath and body items.

“What is uttered from the heart alone, will win the hearts of others to your own.”  Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

“I guess when your heart gets broken you sort of start to see cracks in everything. I'm convinced that tragedy wants to harden us and our mission is never to let it.”

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”  Lao Tzu
